The “Skeleton” is complete!

All right!  After many weeks of writing and re-writing, including totally throwing out a way-too-convoluted first draft, the 6,000-word outline for the ZCD novel is complete, from start to finish.  Ten chapters, one for each musical track, and an Epilogue that I added on without any “musical guidance” that I think will give the reader a nice glimpse into the true ending of the story.

The “skeleton” for the story is now in place; I know exactly what I want to write, where I want the story to go, and the major nuances of the over-arching story line.  No I just have to add some “meat” to the skeleton by writing the actual chapters!  That process has already begun, as Chapter 1 is underway.

Hi everyone!  I’m very excited to get the ball rolling on this project.  And i have to be very honest, I’m using this blog just as much to keep me on pace and on task as I am using it to record the creative process and share my experience with you.  Writing a full-fledged novel is a daunting task, but I am confident that this will be a very successful endeavor.

I am currently putting the finishing touches on the initial outline for the story before I send it over to Luke to take a peek at.  For those of you who may not be aware, Luke Kuzava is the creator of ZCD and is the man solely responsible for the creation of the musical experience.  I chose early on to work closely with him and keep him well-informed of the writing process and where the story is heading, as I value his input and know he can provide a level of insight and understanding into the story that I could never get otherwise.  It’s just another reason why this experience is going to be an amazing and productive one.

Stay tuned for more updates!  My plan is to write on this blog AT LEAST once a week if not more, so you’ll be able to stay up-to-date with everything that is going on with the process.  Until next time!
